Electric Plug
I was reading on FastCompany.com today about the develoments that Nissan are making in their small sized fully electric vehicle. Their EV-02 will be available sometime in 2010 and will be said to get 100 miles to the charge. Nissan’s vehicle will use the plug standard that was decided on sometime ago. I wonder if this plug and connector will be available in flat black. Also, will you receive a nice manicure like the above shown disembodied hand? I can’t wait to get an all electric vehicle.

Ford Fiesta ECOnetic
Earlier I was reading the internet and stumbled across some good information. Did you know that Ford Motor Co. has plans on producing a 65mpg vehicle with the ability to seat 5 and have touch screen navigation? I was so excited to hear that one of the Big 3 was finally, finally taking the necessary steps to place themselves in league with Toyota and Honda. But then, I continued to read and found out that the new Ford Fiesta ECOnetic will only be available in Europe.
Ford officials are citing American’s negative views toward diesel fuel as their main reason for non introduction into the US market. Ah, did I forget to mention that the vehicle is a turbo diesel. I know a few people that would be more than happy to have a 65mpg turbo diesel vehicle. I know some that would most assuridly convert the bad mamma-jamma into a bio-diesel freak.
Ford’s R&D department are making leaps in the fuel efficiency of the diesel engine as well as decreasing harmful emissions. So, I give Ford one thumb up for producing this efficient vehicle, but one thumb to the side for only distributing the Fiesta in Europe.
I had a conversation with a fellow designer today. The topic of clothing came into play when I questioned the types of clothes that we’d be wearing in 50 years. I’ve been meditating on the latest Star Trek craze and reminiscing on how the old Star Fleet uniforms where. Are we all going to be wearing adult sized onezees in 2059?
We talked about how design has a cyclical effect. Go to the South Side of Chicago and you’ll see millennials imitating the vibrant colors and bold patterns of the 1980′s. In Soho, a nod to the metallic and iridescent fabrics are often apparent. If so much of the past becomes a part of future trends, then how do we innovate fashion? Who will lead us in the 22nd century.
All’s I know is, those onezees look comfortable.

Hydrogen Powered Sportbike
They say that this bad boy will have a touch screen, wifi, gps, and 3g. On top of those little trinkets, the bike will be hydrogen powered. This concept machine is slated for 2015. Her sexy aggressive stance begs to whiz through rush hour traffic. The color selection leaves something to be desired. It reminds me of a storm trooper speeder.
I don’t know about you but I’m gonna start saving now.
Hutton Espresso Collection
I feel like I’ve been out of the loop for a while. How is it that I haven’t heard about Restoration Hardware before Tuesday? While watching “Cash Cab”, I heard a question that referred to Restoration Hardware as the Crate and Barrel for men. I said to myself, “Self, you’ve got to find these people.”
Where have I been? They have a nice selection of contemporary furnishings. Their site is user friendly and has a ton of photos for ease of use. Next stop; Restoration Hardware (Oakbrook Center).

Why would you need this phone. What kind of activities are you involved in that requires this phone?

Yeah, that's it.
Some states are banning cell phone use while driving. Cell phones while water skiing … I don’t think so.
Designers are rebelling against the notion of pristine objects. This year at Milan’s Furniture Fair, that trend is on full display. But it’s actually an ancient idea. For hundreds of years, Japan’s dominant aesthetic has been wabi sabi, which values the impermanent, imperfect, and incomplete.
I have some wabi sabi for you, it’s called my laundry basket. I’ve been avoiding having to fold my laundry for a couple of days. Now I have a really good reason to leave the laundry where it is. Thank you ancient Japanese aesthetic.
